The Waters of Delaware

The second smallest state in the Union is one of the biggest boating states, mostly because it has a dense population with a high per capita personal income level, and lots of water. Delaware offers easy access to the Delaware River, Delaware Bay, Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The state's South Atlantic location makes for a slightly longer boating season than folks enjoy in states like Maine and Minnesota.

Delaware State Boating Regulations

The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife currently has a mandatory boater education requirement requiring all boaters born after January 1, 1978 to have the Delaware boating license on board when the vessel is underway.
